Our History SINCE 1987

Since 1987 Madison Auto Trim has been a hidden gem that puts a feather in the cap of Wisconsin small family business success stories. Started by Ron Stevens in 1987 out of his Nissan cube van. Ron would travel around to dealerships in Dane County and offer accessories with installation on the spot! He was known as an extremely dedicated hard worker, joke teller, and always a joy to be around.

Ron’s two son’s along with many dedicated staff members joined the business team to establish today’s version of Madison Auto Trim. With over 40 staff members and multiple location’s MAT accessorizes over 600 cars per week throughout Southern Wisconsin. Servicing the general public and car dealerships MAT has an extensive customer base of over 600,000 customers dating back to 1987!’

Our Mission

Madison Auto Trim is started by owner Ron Stevens. Ron is a one man show for years! He would stock his van with all the accessories and tools to provide door-to-door service for area dealerships. Ron would sell and install everything from pin-striping to spoilers to more than 10.000 sunroofs!

More Satellite locations are added as M.A.T. grows. Exterior of the building has a facelift and the showroom is completely remodeled by its own employees. The interior of the main shop is also remodeled and updated. This provides our staff the newest and nicest environment to work on your vehicle just like it was their own!

COMPANY TIMELINE

1987

The First Retail Location Opens A Few Blocks of The Capital On East Washington Avenue. It’s Located Within The Parking Lot Of The Don Miller Downtown Dealership Location. Madison Auto Trim Takes Over All The Detailing Services For All ThE Don Miller Locations. MAT Offers Retail Detailing And Accessories As Well.

Don Miller Opens A New West Side Location And Chad Stevens Becomes General Manager Of All Detailing.

Madison Auto Trim Moves Into Its Current 18,000 Square Foot Location On The East Side Of Madison Off High Crossing Blvd, Tim Stevens Becomes General Manager Of The East Location. Services Expand And M.A.T. Starts Offering Body Repair And Painting, Many Vehicle Accessories, And Now Has A Retail Showroom

M.A.T. Spray In Bed Liners Are Started And Become A Daily Staple.

Website Is Developed – Www.Madisonautotrim.Com Sales And Dealer Accounts Continue Growing, Along With Our Retail Customer Base.

M.A.T. Starts Working With IAS And Starts Offering Several New Electronic Product Lines To Its Service Menu.

Outside Sales Are Added And Dealer Accounts Begin To Grow.

Dealer Accounts Grow Rapidly. Shuttle Drivers And 10 Fleet Cars Are Added To Service The Dealer Accounts.

Two New Locations Are Added Where Madison Auto Trim Has Staffing Within The Dealership.

MAT Has Grown To Servicing Hundreds Of Car Deal Construction Companies, And City Municipalities, And Has A Large Retail Customer Base.
